Handgun Courses
State of Florida Concealed Weapons Course: 2.5 Hours / $65
This is the required State of Florida certificated basic safety course, that covers firearms safety, on range qualification, individual legal responsibility and Florida law requirements. All documentation including the application etc are supplied. Cost includes class, range time, ear & eye protection if needed, State CWP application pack and all class room materials. Please note: This class is for experienced shooters who can demonstrate basic handgun knowledge and safety. If you are not an experienced shooter, please register for the Handgun Intro Class below which will also meet the requirements to apply for your CWP.
Ammunition Required: 25-50 rounds
Prerequisites: 21 years or older

Handgun Intro Class: 4 Hours / $150
This 4 Hour class is designed to teach the
student the basic knowledge and
attitudes necessary for selecting owning and using the pistol of their
choice safely and effectively. Topics covered include: Safe gun
handling, weapon selection, firearm nomenclature and manipulation,
ammunition options and applications, storage & maintenance,
fundamentals of pistol shooting including, grip options, stance
options, sighting fundamentals, trigger control. This course also meets
the requirements for the State of Florida safety course to obtain a
concealed weapons permit.
Ammunition Required: 100 rounds

Advanced Concealed Carry Class : 4 Hours / $200 
This 4 hour course addresses various techniques for carrying a handgun concealed. This pistol course will guide you through the basics of utilizing your firearm under stress conditions and what to do if you are involved in a shooting - post shooting trauma, mind set and personal awareness. Areas covered include: Concealed carry holsters and options, drawing from concealed carry, ammunition selection, stance, trigger control, realistic ranges. Course includes an introduction to firearms retention techniques, close-quarter shooting, pre-fight and post-fight issues.
Ammunition Required: 200 rounds
Prerequisites: All students must have a concealed weapons permit. Additional Equipment: Along with the standard strong side carry holster, an inside-the-pants holster for your firearm is required. Please dress for the class in same clothing you would NORMALLY wear while carrying your firearm (no open toe shoes, no v neck tops).

For this class we've taken our existing Advanced Concealed Carry class and adapted it to specifically meet the needs of the female Concealed Weapons Permit holder. Added to the standard course will be drawing from and shooting through handbags, firearm and ammunition selection, female specific concealed carry options, and self-defense techniques for the lady that carries. This will be an extended class lasting all day instead of the normal 4 hours, for the standard price of $200. Check out a video of this class here!

at the range and shooting in a life and death situation, are 2
completely different things. This pistol course will guide you through
the basics of utilizing your firearm under stress conditions. Beginning
with a classroom lecture on safety, situational awareness, tactical
planning and a short review of topics covered in our fighting pistol
courses. Covers mental conditioning, stance, drawing, mastering trigger
control, mastering recoil, stress fire, tactical target engagement and
speed sighting.
Ammunition Required: 300-400 rounds Prerequisites: All students must have a concealed weapons permit and have successfully completed one of our basic 4 hour handgun classes (or similar class).
Additional Equipment: Baseball cap, food and drinks, elbow and knee pads, along with clothing that will allow for work on the ground (no open top shoes or v neck tops).

pistol course is focused on modern defensive shooting, handgun
familiarization, and safe weapons handling techniques. Progressing
through the class the student will build a “fight ready” mind set. This
class is primarily an on-range class with students running multiple live fire drills to practice the skills taught. The class is designed to teach
advanced drills for the serious shooter. Covers the use of cover and
types of cover, standing, kneeling, prone positions, dynamic shooting,
multiple target engagement, malfunction drills, reloading techniques,
stress fire, sub-conscious sight picture, and one-handed shooting and
manipulation.
Ammunition Required: 300 - 400 rounds
Prerequisites: All students must have a concealed weapons permit and have successfully completed our
Advanced Defensive Handgun 1 class. Additional Equipment: Baseball cap, food and drinks, elbow and knee pads, along with clothing that will allow for work on the ground (no open top shoes or v neck tops).

Advanced Defensive Handgun 3: One Day / $200
This pistol course has been described as “intense”, “wild” and “exhausting”. We can confirm those opinions and add that this class is not for the meek or mild mannered. This class is a truly dynamic class focusing on “fight to the finish” defensive shooting, honing your “fight ready” mind set. This class is primarily an on range class. Students will fire a minimum of 200 rounds of ammo in live fire drills. This class is designed to teach close quarter shooting, low-light shooting, advanced one handed techniques, off handed techniques, moving and shooting, standing, kneeling, prone positions, shoot / no shoot scenarios, one handed malfunction drills, stress fire, low light / no light close quarter shooting.
Ammunition Required: 300 - 400 rounds
Prerequisites: All students must have a concealed weapons permit and have successfully completed our Advanced Defensive Handgun 2 class.

This 3-Day Immersion Special Event takes the student through Levels 2 and 3 of our Advanced Defense Handgun curriculum listed above in an extended format allowing for more repetition of drills. This class is offered 2-3 times per year at Okeechobee Shooting Sports. Space is limited to 10 students.
Ammunition Required: 800 – 1,200 rounds
Prerequisites: All students must have a Concealed Weapon Permit and have successfully completed our Advanced Defensive Handgun 1 class.
Additional Equipment: Baseball cap, food and drinks, elbow and knee pads, along with clothing that will allow for work on the ground (no open top shoes or v neck tops).
This 3-Day Immersion Special Event takes the student through Levels 2 and 3 of our Advanced Defense Handgun curriculum listed above in an extended format allowing for more repetition of drills. This class is offered 2-3 times per year at Okeechobee Shooting Sports. Space is limited to 10 students.

Team Tactics: One Day / $350 per couple/$200 per individual
This course applies to all husband / wife, security teams, or any other two-person team that may encounter a deadly force scenario together. Functioning as a cohesive team under deadly force threat is something that must be planned and practiced. Situations addressed include moving through and around buildings, dealing with a home invasion, and active shooter environments. This class focuses on equipment, communication, and tactics specifically for two-person teams. This class is only held 2-3 times per year and class size is limited to 12 students, so register early. Prerequisites: All students must be safe and competent drawing and shooting their chosen firearm. A Suggested Prerequisite Course is our Advanced Concealed Carry or Advanced Defensive Handgun Level One
Additional Equipment: Strong Side Belt Holster, Sturdy Gun Belt, Three Magazines (minimum), and Magazine Pouches.
