Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What if I am a total Novice and do not have a gun?
A: If you are taking one of our introduction classes and do not have a firearm, you will need to advise us at the TIME OF BOOKING. We will then make sure a selection of firearms is available for you to rent for an additional fee.

Q: Are your courses “certified”?
A: Yes you will get a certificate of completion for each class you successfully complete.

Q: Do I really need formal training?
A: Knowing how to shoot is not the same as knowing how to fight with a firearm. Shooting skills are only one aspect of a gunfight. We teach everything from basic shooting skills to tactical training, such as understanding how distance, time, and environmental factors etc affect the outcome. The gun itself will not win the fight, the best trained man will.

Q: Which Gun should I bring?
A: You will be doing a LOT of shooting. In the most basic of our courses, most students will fire at least 100 rounds of ammunition in a dynamic environment. Our suggestion is to bring the gun that you are:
1. Most likely to carry.
2. Will stand up to continued use.
3. You stand the best chance of shooting well with.

Q: May I use a firearm with a .22 cal conversion kit in your classes?
A: The cost of the ammunition consumed during training can be greatly reduced by converting your chosen firearm (handgun or rifle) to .22 cal. Although we recommend you train with the same caliber ammunition you will carry for defense, we have no objections to students using .22 cal conversion kits in our classes.

Q: I’m in Law Enforcement; can I train in my duty gear?
A: Of course.  We recommend that you train however you carry, so if you are in law enforcement we encourage you to train in your duty gear.

Q: Do you allow spectators at your classes?
A: Yes we do. The cost is the same as participation. Our stock in trade is our time and our knowledge.

Q: Will you hold a class without a deposit?
A: No. Unfortunately due to willful abuse in the past, we cannot offer training to anyone who is not willing to pay a deposit or prepay in full at the time of sign up.

Q: What if I cannot make the class?
A: If you give us at least 48 hours notice, your payment will be held for you to reschedule the class. If a student simply does not show up, cancels, or reschedules more than 3 consecutive times, the deposit will be forfeited.

Q: Can I buy a gift certificate?
A: Of course, you may purchase gift certificates from our Online Store.

Q Can I get a Military / Police discount?
A: For military and police group classes, we do offer a discount rate. Please speak to one of our instructors for more information.

Q: Do you offer group discounts?
A: We do offer discounts for large groups, please call for more information.

Q: How do I know if a scheduled class is full?
A: Check the schedule page, call us, or email us to check.

Q: I am an experienced shooter. Can I take an intermediate or advanced class without taking the basic class?
A: In many cases, yes, depending on your prior training.  However, many experienced shooters still prefer to take our base class as a refresher. Contact us to verify whether your previous experience/training qualifies for the course in which you are interested.

Q: What languages are used in your classes?
A: English only. If you have a GROUP requirement for another language, please contact us to discuss.

Q: Do you rent guns?
A: We have a small range of firearms and equipment for rent. Please remember we are not a firearm rental business, we are a firearms training company. Please specify what you need when booking your class.

Q: What if my equipment does not work?
A:  Our classes will not be delayed for untested or non-functioning equipment. Our job is to teach, your job is to show up with functional equipment. Test your gear before the class…Please!

Q: How much ammo do I need?
A: Amount actually shot will depend on course flow and will vary from class to class. Please check course description for more detail on the amount required for any particular class.

Q: What if I didn’t find an answer to my question?
A: Email or call us.
