 Introduction to Rifle / Carbine : Four Hours / $150
This class covers the basics of using your chosen carbine. Your instructor will cover Firearms Safety, Firearm Nomenclature, Firearm Specific Anomalies, Carbine Accessories, Gun Management and Maintenance.

AR15 / M4 Platform Principles: Four Hours / $150 
This course is geared towards anyone looking to learn how to use the AR15 platform safely, effectively and reliably. It offers owners of AR-15 /
M-4 /M-16 style rifles the necessary skill set for safe and proper application of this AR platform. Students will become familiarized with the AR-15 / M-4 rifle and will learn the basic gun-handling skills that are necessary to safely operate and maintain this weapon system. Topics covered include:  Nomenclature, Mechanical Operation, Disassembly & Reassembly, Function Checking, Fundamentals of Rifle Shooting, Sling Use & Carry Techniques, Zeroing Sights, Understanding Projectile Trajectory, Shooting Positions, Preventive Maintenance and Cleaning.
Ammunition Required:100 rounds
Additional Equipment:AR-15 or M-4 type rifle with iron sights or optic, sling, and gun cleaning kit.

Advanced Defensive Carbine
(formerly Tactical Carbine / Pistol)

Course Brief: This class is for anyone who has a fighting rifle / carbine such as the AK, AR, platforms etc and wants to learn how to use them effectively in a realistic environment. This is an all-day on range course for the serious shooter wanting to get the most from is weapon system. Some of the items covered in the course are Standing, Kneeling and Prone Positions, Shooting On The Move, Shooting From Cover, and Reloading Techniques including Speed Loads and Tactical Reloads.

Defensive 
Carbine Immersion 
Course Brief: This 2-Day Immersion Special Event picks up where our one day Defensive Carbine curriculum ends in an extended format allowing not only more material to be covered but for more repetition of drills while learning to shoot under stress. Focus will be on Drills and Techniques most commonly accepted for Fighting with a Rifle, as well as some less common techniques that we believe invaluable in an urban fighting environment. Students will develop skills that increase their speed, accuracy and confidence with a carbine. Course include working around vehicles, shooting from improvised positions, transitioning to and from pistol, extreme close contact shooting, introduction to team tactics and more. This class is offered 2-3 times per year in Florida. Space is limited to 12 students. This is NOT a basic course and all students must be up to speed before attending, please see prerequisites.

- Advanced Defensive Handgun Level One

- Advanced Defensive Carbine
Or be able to prove similar course completion from Louis Awerbuck, Randy Cain, Clint Smith, Pat Rogers, Gunsite, or Tactical Response. FFT reserves the right to refuse training or service.

 

Long Range Rifle Immersion Level One: Two Days / $550
This course will be invaluable to anyone who wants to experience the satisfaction of long range precision marksmanship. It is specifically designed around the needs of shooters (both new and old) that are interested in learning the fundamental skills for shooting accurately out to 500 yards whether for hunting or sport. Course intent is to cover the techniques required to achieve first round hits out to 500 yards. This is a marksmanship skills course and does not include advanced sniper techniques. Course consists of classroom and on-range practical training that includes Safety, Rifle Set-up, Optic Set-up and Correct Placement, Sighting In, Bi-pod, Sling and Ammunition Selection and Ballistic Comparisons, Correct Bench and Prone Shooting Positions, Understanding Eye Relief, Breathing, Grip, Trigger Control, Follow Through, and Cleaning Your Rifle. This course is offered twice a year at Okeechobee Shooting Sports. Space is limited to six students.
Ammunition Required: 200 rounds of match ammunition. NO Steel Core or Penetrating ammo allowed.
Prerequisites: N/A
Additional Equipment: A 308, 5.56 or similar caliber Precision Rifle capable of Minute of Angle Accuracy (Precision rifles are a necessity for a course of this kind.), Quality Adjustable Scope (A scope that will allow for precision shooting at 500+ yards, Mil Dot, Target Turrets, BDC or Meridian Reticules are recommended.), Bipod, Sling, Rear Bag, Cleaning Kit, Pen, Pencil, Highlighter, Rifle Data Book or Notebook, Calculator.

 

Long Range Rifle Immersion Level Two: Two Days / $550
This course is for experienced rifle shooters that want to push their individual abilities with a precision rifle in varying conditions and environments beyond just static bench or prone shooting. It applies to many different aspects of marksmanship including military/law enforcement, competition, and hunting. Anyone interested in placing precision fire on point targets at or near the maximum effective range of their rifle under imposed stress will learn the art and science involved in doing so in this course. 

THIS IS NOT A BASIC COURSE. As with all of our ADVANCED courses, it has a relatively complex curriculum that includes; Advanced Fundamentals of Marksmanship, Ballistics, Reading Wind, Range Estimation, Observation Skills, Target Engagements to 500 yards, Alternate Positions, Shooter / Spotter Techniques and Responsibilities, Terminology and Communications, Standing, Kneeling, Supported and Improvised Positions, Moving Targets, Shooting from Elevated Positions (up to 50 feet off the ground) and Timed Targets. This course will utilize the entire 80 acre facility, fully taking advantage of all the ranges on-site. Students that complete the course will have a proficiency in handling a firearm under stress conditions, advanced marksmanship fundamentals, and a combined knowledge of their personal capabilities with their equipment.

The course concludes with our Advanced Precision Rifle Qualification Course, an exercise covering 40 acres where the student will be required to read maps, stalk from position to position, identify and range targets, report via radio, and engage targets out to 500 yards from improvised positions within a given time constraint. Students must achieve a 80% score or better course to pass and receive their certificate of completion. The pass rate for first-time attendees is 60%.

This course is offered twice a year at Okeechobee Shooting Sports. Space is limited to six students.
Ammunition Required: 200-250 rounds of match ammunition. NO Steel Core or Penetrating ammo allowed.
Prerequisites: All students must have completed our Long Range Rifle Immersion Level One or have had comparable training.
Additional Equipment: A 308, 5.56 or similar caliber Precision Rifle capable of Minute of Angle Accuracy (Precision rifles are a necessity for a course of this kind.), Quality Adjustable Scope (A scope that will allow for precision shooting at 500+ yards, Mil Dot, Target Turrets, BDC or Meridian Reticules are recommended.), Bipod, Sling, Rear Bag, Cleaning Kit, Pen, Pencil, Highlighter, Rifle Data Book or Notebook, Calculator.

 Long Range Rifle Skills Development: Four Hours / $100
Four Hours of shooting focused on your individual needs / interests with expert coaching. This training session allows you to come and shoot with us out to 500 yards. We will be taking over the entire facility. Let us help you work out your dope, perfect your shooting positions, breathing, wind and distance judging, and calling your shot. We offer this class the 4th Wednesday of every month at Okeechobee Shooting Sports and the 2nd Sunday of every month at Manatee Gun and Archery Club. Space is limited to six students.
Ammunition Required: Dependent on student, minimum 40rds recommended
Prerequisites: N/A 
Additional Equipment: Scoped rifle, bi-pod (recommended), shooting mat, range finder, notebook and pen, scope adjustment tools,  baseball cap, snacks and drinks, along with clothing that will allow for work on the ground (no open top shoes or v neck tops).
